Beautiful Illustrations, but writing inconsistent

I bought this book for the illustrations, they are simply adorable, and I would love to give it five stars just for that, but I can't. The trouble is the text, every page rhymes -- except for one -- it's like stubbing your toe in the book each time you read it. At first it made me laugh, then it started to annoy me when I read the book again and again to my daughter, as it disrupts the soothing rhythm found in most bedtime books. Why one page doesn't rhyme I don't know, but sadly it lessens my enjoyment of this book.

Great book and help for the naysayers.

We love this book. Beautiful illustrations. And for everyone that is complaining about "roar" and "paw" rhyming…the woman who wrote the book is British. And the way they pronounce those words rhyme.

Adorable story with beautiful illustrations

This book is adorable! The illustrations are probably the most beautiful I've seen, in my opinion. The words are calming and sweet. I've been reading this book to my daughters for about 7 years, and it's my favorite! I think I like it more than they do. We bought this copy to give as a baby shower gift.
