Mima Sinclair is a much in-demand London-based food stylist and writer who has cooked, tested, written and developed recipes for numerous Sainsbury's Magazines and cookbooks and worked with a number of top chefs. Since going freelance, she has also contributed to many food-related stills, video, publishing and packaging projects. She is also the author of Mug Cakes (Kyle Books, 2014).

I've gotten rid of most of my cookbooks since there are so many recipes online that have been tested and reviewed by real cooks. But I love, love, love this little book. It is so beautifully designed . . . lovely photographs, something inspiring to look at with every page you turn. The little hand-drawn graphics, the fonts and page layouts, even a gingerbread texture for the recipe pages---all show that this book was a labor of love.
There are recipes for various types of gingerbread (quantities are given in weights), lots of different ways to use the dough, baking tips, and scaled-down patterns for several houses. Can't comment on the recipes as I haven't tried any yet, but I will. Next year will definitely be a gingerbread Christmas at my house, though I probably won't wait that long to make the Apple & Gingerbread Streusel Tart---it looks totally decadent.
