i felt compelled to write only because of all the five star reviews. this book needs put in its place. i'm an RN as well, so i'd like to think i bring some credibility to the table. the books title "incredibly visual" could potentially give the reader a warm and fuzzy about learning about some fairly dry material; however, all the rotten little visuals are of that silly female character on the cover, inexplicably, holding a paint brush. there is not one smidgen of educational value in the "visuals." the authors bog down these pages with bright, colorful images so that - at first glance - it appears as if everything is so FUN and EASY to learn! but again, the visuals are of that silly female character or some cartoon heart that follows you throughout the book like that goofy animated paperclip that used to pop up in the MICROSOFT WORD, but way less helpful. the authors always assume a lot. instead of ideas building off of previously detailed ideas, the writing's disjointed, almost as if this book was compiled from a bunch of random documents online. which it probably was. it feels like all the information is third and forth-hand information. this company just wants to flood the market with inferior products under the guise that considerable care has gone into simplifying the material, but it simply isn't true. the EKG portion was an atrocity. if you want a phenomenal, top-tier book on EKG interpretation, check out dale dubin's "rapid interpretation of EKGs." as for this "incredibly visual" cardiovascular care book, it belongs at the GOOD WILL store.

Phenomenal.

A paramedic partner of mine recommended this series of books to me (he had the pathophysiology one), and after seeing his I immediately bought them all. I'm an EMT and don't actually have to know anything in this book, but I plan on medical school, so I read everything that'll give me a head start.
The information is this book is presented with such incredible simplicity it puts every other textbook I've ever come across to shame. Providing visuals helps a lot, especially since some of them are utterly ridiculous and hilarious at 4AM on an ambulance. I learned more from this book than a lot of paramedics know about cardiology. I strongly recommend this one and all the others in the series to anyone at any level of healthcare.

I have had great experiences with the Made Easy series, so I figured that I would enjoy the Cardiovascular Visual book. I have to say that it was a mistake purchasing this book. If you are the kind of person that has enough money to spend carelessly on books, go for it. (I made the mistake of purchasing it for close to the retail price... not currently available at a discounted price). I would not recommend purchasing this book due to the fact that it is very basic knowledge and the visuals are not adequate for healthcare professionals. There are other resources to aid in knowledge that are of equivalent price. A good point is that it is not intimidating whatsoever; however, the information found in this text can be easily found (for free) on the right websites. Hope this helps because I was surprised that so many people raved about this book.
